D’Angelo Russell will not play in Tuesday’s Lakers versus Jazz game

D’Angelo Russell has been a big boon for the Los Angeles Lakers ever since they acquired him in the Russell Westbrook trade in early February. However, availability has been a problem for him ever since.

He has missed eight games since arriving in L.A., six because of a sprained ankle and two because of a hip ailment. However, when he has been available, he has played very well, as he has averaged 17.1 points and 6.3 assists a game for the Lakers while shooting a high percentage.

He missed the second half of Sunday’s win over the Houston Rockets with foot soreness, and although he was initially listed as probable for Tuesday’s game against the Utah Jazz, he was downgraded to out shortly before tip-off.

The Lakers should be able to defeat Utah without Russell, but they will have a difficult time dealing with the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday if he is unable to suit up for that contest.
