In the Boston Celtics’ 112-99 win over the Atlanta Hawks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first round series, star Celtics forward Jaylen Brown was the best player on the floor for either team on Saturday night despite playing through his stitches on his hand splitting open mid-game.
The Georgia native put up an impressive 29 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal in 37 minutes of game time in the contest, with Brown shooting an efficient 12-of-23 from the floor, 2-of-6 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 3-of-3 from the line. The hand bothered the Cal alum to the tune of 6 turnovers, but even with 3 personal fouls called on him in the first half (and no more after), it was an impressive postseason performance even with the hand issues.
