College basketball transfer rankings 2024: Ranking top 75 players as Xavier adds Ryan Conwell to strong class

Xavier’s strong transfer cycle continued with Friday with another big commitment as the Musketeers landed a pledge from former Indiana State guard Ryan Connell. Slotted as the No. 33 player in the CBS Sports Transfer Rankings, Conwell should play a key role in helping Xavier replace leading scorer Quincy Olivari, who is out of eligibility.

With Xavier’s No. 2 scorer Desmond Claude also hitting the portal, the door is open for Conwell and a couple of other transfer guards to come in and help lead the Musketeers back to the NCAA Tournament after a disappointing 16-18 season in coach Sean Miller’s second year. Former Toledo guard and 3-point marksman Dante Maddox Jr. is also headed to Xavier and is No. 47 in the updated rankings.

Veteran playmaker Marcus Foster from Furman is another backcourt player with the chops to make significant contributions for the Musketeers. He joins former Oklahoma center John Hurley in rounding out Xavier’s strong transfer class thus far.

With the spring portal window closing on May 1, those wishing to transfer are running short on time to declare their intentions. But so long as players have entered the portal by that date, they face no firm deadline on when they must commit to their new school. Those who are exploring the NBA Draft process have through May 29 to withdraw if they want to return to college next season.

When players hit the portal, the best will be ranked here.
