The No. 16 Arkansas Razorbacks are heading into their first season under head coach John Calipari, the ninth-winningest coach in Division I history. He led Kentucky to four Final Four appearances and is looking to take the Razorbacks to the Final Four for the first time since 1995. Calipari used the offseason to build a roster essentially from scratch, as Arkansas only has one key returnee from last year’s team. The Razorbacks officially open the season on Nov. 6 against Lipscomb before facing No. 8 Baylor at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Nov. 9.
They played a charity exhibition game against No. 1 Kansas last Friday, notching an 85-69 victory over a Jayhawks team missing two starters. Arkansas led by as many as 20 points in the second half, and Calipari will use that contest as a stepping stone for finalizing the Arkansas basketball depth chart heading into the season.
