The 2025 NBA postseason got started Tuesday night with the Warriors, Grizzlies, Magic and Hawks battling in the Play-In Tournament. The postseason schedule continues with play-in games on Wednesday and Friday, and the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs get started on Saturday. We’ll know all eight first-round matchups by Friday night, but four of them are already set: Knicks vs. Pistons and Pacers vs. Bucks in the East, and Lakers vs. Timberwolves and Nuggets vs. Clippers in the West.
The Warriors will try to clinch the West’s No. 7 seed on Tuesday night against the Grizzlies, which comes with a first-round date with the No. 2-seeded Houston Rockets. The Warriors missed a chance to clinch a playoff spot on Sunday in the regular-season finale, falling to the Clippers in overtime as the Clips grabbed the West’s No. 5 seed in the process.
The Magic and Hawks are playing for the East’s No. 7 seed on Tuesday night. The winner will match up with the reigning champion Boston Celtics in the first round.
All eight first-round series will begin this weekend, and the first round could run through May 4. The NBA Finals are set to begin June 5.
