What to Know
The Charleston Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Rhode Island Rams at 12:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Thomas M. Ryan Center. The Cougars are looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Charleston didn’t have too much trouble with The Citadel as they won 76-61.
Ante Brzovic and Lazar Djokovic were among the main playmakers for Charleston as the former dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds and the latter went 8 for 10 en route to 20 points plus five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Brzovic a new career-high in field goal percentage (83.3%).
Meanwhile, Rhode Island had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Leopards by a score of 86-72.
Among those leading the charge was Sebastian Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of David Green, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Charleston’s win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Rhode Island, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
